BUNKER
Overview
BUNKER is a tense, atmospheric top-down survival horror game where you find yourself trapped inside a dark, procedurally generated underground bunker. Your only source of light is a flashlight with a limited battery, and somewhere in the shadows, a terrifying creature — referred to only as "IT" — is hunting you. Your mission is simple yet terrifying: collect all the scattered batteries, keep your flashlight alive, and find your way to the green exit door before IT catches you.
Story & Setting
You awaken in a cold, dark bunker with no memory of how you got there. The only things you have are a dying flashlight and the overwhelming feeling that you are not alone. The bunker is a maze of concrete corridors and rooms, filled with scattered batteries — your only lifeline. As you explore, you begin to hear whispers, footsteps, and the unmistakable presence of something unnatural stalking you through the darkness. The bunker shifts and changes with each attempt, ensuring that no two runs are ever the same.
Core Gameplay
>span class="qwen-markdown-text">Your flashlight is your only defense against the darkness. It slowly drains over time, and when it dies, you are left in near-total darkness — making you an easy target for IT. Scattered throughout the bunker are batteries that fully recharge your flashlight when collected. You must carefully manage your battery life, deciding when to push forward and when to retreat.
>span class="qwen-markdown-text">IT is a relentless, intelligent predator. It patrols the bunker, searching for you. If IT sees you, it will chase you at high speed. The creature has a field of vision and can be slowed down by your flashlight beam — but only in certain difficulty modes. IT can lose track of you if you break line of sight, but it will remember your last known position and search for you. If you stay hidden long enough, IT will eventually give up and return to patrolling.

Game Modes & Difficulties
Standard Difficulties
- Easy — 5 batteries, small map, IT is slower than you
- Normal — 10 batteries, medium map, IT almost catches you
- Hard — 15 batteries, large map, IT is faster even in your light
- Extreme — 30 batteries, huge map, light does not slow IT
- >span class="qwen-markdown-text"> — 30 batteries, two ITs that communicate with each other
Special Modes
- Gambit — All five difficulties played back-to-back in a single session. After completing each difficulty, you immediately move to the next harder one. At the end, a Frenzy phase begins where you must reach the exit within 30 seconds while both ITs chase you at full speed.
- Revenge — Gambit mode, but you are equipped with a laser pistol that can kill IT. The pistol has 3 cells of 3 shots each (9 total). When a cell is empty, it takes 1.5 seconds to reload before the next cell activates. Batteries reload your pistol instead of a flashlight.
- Endless — Infinite waves of increasing difficulty. Each wave adds more batteries and makes IT faster. How long can you survive?
- Endless Revenge — Endless mode with the laser pistol.
Visual Style & Atmosphere
>strong class="qwen-markdown-strong">retro pixel-art aesthetic with a dark, oppressive atmosphere. The screen is almost entirely black, with only your flashlight cone revealing the world around you. The bunker walls are made of grim concrete, and the floors are cracked and dirty. IT appears as a shadowy black figure with glowing red eyes that become brighter and more intense when it is chasing you. The UI is minimal and retro, with a battery indicator, item counter, and occasional warning messages.
>strong class="qwen-markdown-strong">pixelation scaling (1x to 8x), allowing players to choose their preferred level of retro visual fidelity.
Sound Design
BUNKER uses a procedurally generated audio system built with the Web Audio API. There is no traditional music — instead, the game creates an unsettling soundscape of:
- Low drone ambience that intensifies when IT is nearby
- Tense chase music with pulsing bass and erratic high tones
- Sudden glitch sounds and screams
- Mechanical laser shots (in Revenge mode)
- Battery pickup chimes
- Footstep-like noise when IT is moving
The game recommends using headphones for the full immersive experience.
